Freesias
Freesias are famous for their delightful fragrance and should be grown in every garden! They are planted by corms, (sometimes called bulbs) in the ground during the cool season in Zones 9 and higher. These corms produce green leafy foliage and unique blooms, which produce six to twelve trumpet-shaped blooms that open successively. Freesias thrive in pots and can be grown indoors in colder zones. Native to South Africa, they flourish in Mediterranean climates like Southern California. Introduced to Europe, freesias have had a long history of admiration, particularly for their sweet scent. Named after Friedrich H.T. Freesia’s friend, these flowers are now a symbol of friendship. We recommend planting them in pots for easy protection of their precious corms after blooming and to bring their fragrance indoors for maximum enjoyment!Showing the single result
