We understand the importance of organic vegetable seeds for the farmers, the land, and the consumer. And we feel that growing vegetables from seed in your garden is one of the noblest uses of your time. You can grow organic and pesticide-free vegetables to share with your friends, neighbors, and loved ones. Once you learn how to start growing from seed, you will have an endless array of organic vegetables to choose from. You can plant in succession all year long in Zones 9 and 10 for a pantry full of organic vegetables! While it has been wonderful to see organic produce become much more widespread since the 1970s, this also had downsides. "Organic is becoming what we hoped it would be an alternative to," says Roger Blobaum, who played a key role as a consumer advocate in pushing Congress to establish the U.S.D.A.'s organic program. In the early days of organic, organic fruits and vegetables seemed to taste better! Unfortunately, like us, you may have noticed that much of the organic produce (strawberries, peppers, tomatoes, etc.) found today is so mass produced, that their taste profile is virtually indistinguishable from conventional. That is why we are proud to say that we have continued to increase the offering of organic vegetable seeds available for our growers. You can grow them in your garden or small farm to produce an abundance of vegetables that will delight your senses. Through our farming efforts and with the expansion of organic vegetable seeds producers, we hope to one day offer one hundred percent of our seeds as organic for our growing number of organic growers and conscientious gardeners. Until we reach that goal, we thank our loyal customers for helping to support our work to make it happen.
