Basic Fruit Tree Care Workshop

Join us for a morning class to teach you the basics of fruit tree care. The class will include how to irrigate, fertilize, plant, prune and harvest fruit from your trees. This class will take place in the certified organic orchard of San Diego Seed Company. Participants will get to learn first hand how to prune, different watering systems and more. All participants will take home handouts on information taught. A ticket must be purchased prior to class. Class starts at 9:00am sharp ends at 11:00am Location: San Diego Seed Company's certified organic orchard in Mt. Hope San Diego.

Binational Urban Farming workday October 27th 2019

Join us for a fun-filled day of learning about urban farming in our sister country of Mexico! Participants will be taken on an in-depth tour of Tijuana's Ecoparque, an incredible park, and organization whose goals are to raise awareness of environmental issues through the implementation of alternative sustainable practices. Ecoparque feature's a wastewater system that is unique to this park and extremely interesting to those involved in sustainability and biofiltration. Participants then will get to do hands-on activities such as seeding in the greenhouse, transplanting, soil preparation, vermicomposting and more! The intent of this event to bring awareness to San Diego residences of the great things happening in Tijuana while focusing on the positive impact of sustainable practices, urban farming, and binational relationships. An itinerary of the event will be: 12:00 PM Meet at San Diego Seed Company Farm 12:30 PM Arrive at Ecoparque, Tijuana Mexico 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM Tour of facilities with Director, Sam Perez 1:30 PM - 6:30 PM Hands-on Urban Farming activities 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM Sunset celebration of work completed with light beverages 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM Dinner Telefonica Gastro Park Cost costs include: Licensed and insured transportation to EcoParque and return to San Diego Light Beverages at Sunset at EcoParque Cost DOES NOT costs include: Dinner items bought at Telefonica Important information: ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE A CURRENT PASSPORT FOR ENTRY INTO MEXICO AND RETURN. Participants should bring a hat, water and working clothes for urban farming activities.

Urban Farm School 101 April 2020

Join us for three immersion workshops to help you become the urban farmer of your dreams! This three-part educational series will cover a wide range of subjects that will help you get growing successfully. Whether you are a home grower looking to grow healthy, organic food for your family or a budding market grower, this course offers all the information you need to get started. This course will be taught by owner and founder of San Diego Seed Company and the San Diego Seed Company farm. Brijette's hands-on experience of growing in San Diego County for 10 years will help you become an expert grower. Save time and money by learning from the mistakes we have made on our farm.
