Marigold Seeds

Plant marigold seeds in your garden during the spring and summer, where they will provide you with bright, cheery blooms of gold, yellow, orange, and red. They are easy to plant and grow. Gardeners value them as natural pest deterrents in the garden with showy blooms that make for beautiful cut flowers. Marigold flowers are native to Mexico and Africa. They love the warm temperatures of their homeland and grow easily in Zones 9 and 10. Marigolds have long been a treasured flower; in the 1800’s when marigolds became naturalized along the coast of northern Africa, gardeners began to harvest and save their seeds. As this happened, more and more varieties of marigolds developed and became available to gardeners. Their seeds produce flowers of either double or single blooms. After a long and prolific flowering period, you can easily harvest seeds by pulling the dried seeds from the plant.
