With this gardening membership, each month you get the following:

This self-paced course includes easy-to-digest, monthly lessons that you can apply to vegetables, flowers, and other types of growing! These lessons include extremely valuable knowledge that can save you from heartache and failure in the garden. Each topic is carefully curated from our decade of experience in teaching growers. It will keep you from making fundamental mistakes that every novice gardener makes! The lessons provide a strong foundation so that you can continue to become an expert in growing in the garden or on the farm. New lessons are released each month, and the content is seasonally appropriate for growers in Zones 9 and 10.

I have been a Growing Together member for more than 6 months and I have really enjoyed the personal touches! Whenever I email I get a response, and the Facebook group of members is a great place to ask more questions beyond the educational videos we get each month. Some gardening groups and subscriptions are “one size fits all,” but that doesn’t work for us here in zones 9 and 10. We have specific needs when it comes to mulch and shade cloth and day length and pests. The theory of gardening is great, but the SDSC can tell you what actually works with these specific seeds in our specific zone. I had a lot of firsts with this membership, like first time using a soaker hose! First time growing dahlias! The seed selections are varieties I might not have picked out for myself, but one of the reasons I joined was to try something new and learn something new.

As an aspiring gardener (aka newbie), this course was SO worth it for helping me properly plan a garden and plant for zone 9. Brijette and her team helped me avoid so many of the mistakes I’d made in previous years and I realized I’d been planting at the wrong time and had not been setting myself up for success. Brijette was so responsive and never made me feel like I was asking silly questions. I was also able to set up a way more efficient irrigation system for my plants and my garden truly thrived this year because of it! I learned so so much from this course. I started out growing in May of 2024 in zone 10b. It was a really cold, really wet, really long spring. It was ultimately a terrible time to start learning how to grow your own food. No matter how many YouTube videos I watched, Instagram accounts I followed, books I read, or products I purchased, I still wasn’t getting the right information for my zone’s weather and I knew it! After a couple of months of killing everything, wasting money, wasting time and growing more frustrated – I decided to give up for the season. At this point, I just wanted someone to tell me what to do.
My wish was granted when an online gardening friend mentioned San Diego Seed Co and shared a bunch of their gardening resources. I went on their site and kept noticing this Growing Together Membership and I signed up as a last ditch effort.
If I could turn back time, and only sign up for this membership I would. It literally would have saved me thousands of dollars and months of heartbreak and frustration. I LOVE THIS MEMBERSHIP!!! Almost everything I will ever need to grow in my zone is all in one place. I love the depth of each month’s content – no more wasting time on YouTube! I love that Brijette shares pro growing advice so we can really take advantage of our seasons the way our local farmers do. I love getting the monthly seeds in the mail – everything I’ve gotten has had a great germination rate. I love being able to email questions and getting a response from Rachel or Brijette. I love that the list of products recommended to get growing is short and essential. I am no longer overwhelmed but rather excited and looking forward to each season because I finally found something works. I would have given up gardening if it wasn’t for this course.
