Sweet Peas are one of our favorite flowers! SoCal Soiree came out of an interesting mix of all our favorite and most prolific sweet peas. SoCal Soiree sweet peas will give you beautiful bursts of color and fragrance following you to the ends of the garden. Grown on a trellis or left to grow wild in the garden, they will happily reseed and bring about years of beautiful blooms.
Recommended Planting Requirements: Loose well-drained soil is the best for peas. Organic matter can be added for a healthier harvest. Peas are best grown up a trellis or other support system for neatness. These flowers should be sown in the fall for early spring blooms in Zones 9 and 10. If you get frost in your area, you will need to protect the plants with row covers. Seeds are slow to germinate and can be soaked beforehand to help speed up the process.
Growing Recommendation: Peas need cool weather for the best growth. In areas with mild winters, start seeds in late fall for spring blooms. For prolonged blooms, succession planting is recommended.
Harvesting & Storage: Flowers can be cut and used in arrangements. Please be aware the sweet peas are not edible and can be poisonous to some animals.
