Suggested Planting Requirements: Full sun is needed and high heat toward the end of the growing season can produce very sweet fruit. The pH level for melons should be 6.0-7.0 with soil that is fertile and well-drained. Melons tend to be shallow-rooted, so watering often and consistently is important. Plants can be potted and/or trellised and/or left to sprawl on the ground.

Growing Recommendations: Melons must be sheltered from cool winds and placed in the warmest area. The heat of ideally 90 degrees will condense the sugars.

Harvesting & Storage: Melons should be harvested at peak ripeness. The bottom of the melon that is not attached to the vine should omit a musky sweet smell when ready to harvest. Melons should be cut from the vine and handled very carefully.
