This well-known nasturtium is prized for it’s a compact growing habit. Unlike the wild nasturtium that grows unruly in the canyons of Southern California, this plant is neat and compact with a sweet fragrance. This easy to grow flower is a must-have in the veggie garden! They are beautiful and beneficial. Nasturtiums are easy to grow by directly sowing them in the ground. They require little care but are best when grown in the cooler months with ample moisture. Flowers and leaves are edible. They have a similar flavor as arugula.

Recommended Growing Requirements: This plant can be grown in very poor soil during cool temperatures. Regular watering will keep the nasturtium producing.

Harvesting and Storage: Nasturtium is part of the mustard family. Its flowers and leaves are known for their spicy, peppery flavor. Simply pull flowers to add to salads and more. 1. Shu-Shu Perugino

This plant trailed for no longer than a foot but generated abundant blooms from end to end. Taste was pleasant and sweet. I planted several plants and got a true mix (not just one color).
